Santa Cruz, CA – December 11, 2007 – WhiteNoise Systems, LLC and TecSec Incorporated today announced their strategic partnership focused on providing data-centric protection products and services that protect data from the point of creation through the entire data life cycle. Under the terms of the agreement, both companies will provide technology, marketing and sales support to deliver data-centric solutions to the industry.
“We are excited to work with WhiteNoise Systems, co-developing products and services that are the newest generation solutions to provide new heights in collaborative and secure data management and protection for today’s businesses and agencies,” says John Petty, Chairman of TecSec Inc. Petty continues, “WhiteNoise Systems has been in product development for a year now and we expect to announce our first joint solution, SecureNOW! CKM Enabled, in December 2007, which addresses the problems associated with data storage and management, going well beyond traditional perimeter security products.”
Business Week reports that more than 80% of companies say security is the leading barrier to expanding electronic integrations with customers, suppliers, and other authorized end users. The Boston Consulting Group estimates a potential savings of one trillion dollars if global enterprises are able to securely integrate their corporate, customer, supplier, and employee processes via the Internet.
“Stringent data protection goes far beyond the sole notion of security,” said Richard Weir, CEO and President of WhiteNoise Systems. Weir continues, “With TecSec, we see a significant technological synergy which provides the foundation for creating a unique combination of technologies that dramatically enhance data availability, confidentiality, and integrity and prevents unauthorized access or theft of digital data while providing a new benchmark for total cost of ownership (TCO).” Weir continues, “Until now the industry has not had effective and complete solutions to address these issues. However, we recognize that industry demands are dynamic, and every data-centric protection solution we are developing addresses the issues that have plagued the industry for years.”
According to published industry reports, between January 2005 and May 2007, over 135 million people worldwide have been directly impacted by cyber-crimes. Many have had personal and professional data stolen from their systems and the systems belonging to companies with which they do business. The financial impact of these data thefts has soared into the billions of dollars and the personal impact is incalculable.
Every WhiteNoise solution employs several proprietary technologies including TecSec’s standards-based Constructive Key Management¨ (CKM¨) technology, a unique Data Shredder Algorithm™ and a proprietary user service which combine to create sophisticated, highly randomized “shredded data files” that “protect data at the point of creation” and virtually guarantee that user data cannot be lost or compromised because the data is physically transformed – shredded and cataloged – at the moment it is created, and remains in a constant protected state until the owner “stitches” (stitching is inclusive of specific permissions and data reconstitution) together the original data or gives explicit permission to another to stitch the file together.
By combining these technologies with any standards-based network, the data owner now has the ability to securely collaborate with colleagues, business partners and supply chains and with the controlled distribution mechanisms inherent in every WhiteNoise solution, distribute rich media content directly to homes without the risk of piracy or theft.
